Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Abdominoplasty, also known as tummy tuck surgery, is designed to help patients achieve a flatter stomach appearance. A flat, well-toned abdomen is what most people strive to achieve through exercise and weight control. But, regardless of effort, sometimes even individuals with normal body weight can develop a protruding abdomen with loose or sagging skin. The most common causes of this are pregnancy, heredity, or significant weight loss or gain. The abdominoplasty procedure allows a person to get rid of unwanted bulges of fat on the abdomen that have proven resistant to exercise or diet. This procedure can also remove excess skin following pregnancy or significant weight loss. Depending on the aesthetic needs of each tummy tuck patient, our surgeons might perform this procedure in conjunction with liposuction, which removes stubborn deposits of fat. During an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), the surgeon removes excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall. This can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen, giving your midsection a more attractive contour.

Body lift, a comprehensive form of surgical body contouring, helps tighten areas of loose skin that often form after massive weight loss. During a body lift, which may be performed in multiple surgical visits, several body contouring procedures – such as tummy tuck, breast augmentation, thigh lift, and arm lift – may be combined to tighten your skin and enhance your body contours.

Often, body contouring procedures are performed over the course of several operations to accomplish full body enhancement. Patients benefit from a team approach of operating on different areas of the body at the same time, which decreases the number of separate procedures patients have to undergo to achieve their newly sculpted body. Body lift surgery is an intensive and time-consuming process that follows an equally intensive period of losing weight.

Body lift brings a tremendous reward for the patient. Following successful full body contouring, you will be able to fully reap the rewards of your weight loss – clothes will fit well, and you can enjoy athletic activity, simpler hygiene, and a more attractive figure.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first and only FDA-approved prescription product that temporarily improves the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and moderate to severe crow’s feet in adults.  Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet.  BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time.  Your BOTOX practitioner will inject BOTOX® Cosmetic into the muscles that cause frown lines and crow’s feet lines, temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

Breast augmentation (enhancement) is an out-patient procedure that can increase your bust line by one or more sizes. Breast augmentation can dramatically or modestly improve a woman’s breasts depending on her desires.  By surgically inserting breast implants beneath the breast tissue or the chest muscle during breast augmentation, women can achieve larger, shapelier breasts.  This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and generally is completed in one hour. During your breast augmentation consultation, the surgeon will review all of your options for achieving your ideal breast appearance.

Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure performed on an outpatient basis. This procedure elevates and reshapes sagging breasts, providing breast lift patients with a more youthful and less matronly look. The procedure is often performed as part of a breast augmentation to create a lifted and fuller breast with more cleavage.

Breast reconstruction replaces a breast removed during a mastectomy by using an implant, or the patient’s own tissue. In both types of breast reconstruction procedures, a woman can regain her feminine curves and self-image.

Oversized breasts can cause back and neck pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformities, breathing problems and shoulder indentations from bra straps. A breast reduction provides a breast lift while dramatically altering breast size, relieving physical problems by making your breasts lighter, firmer, smaller, and higher, essentially bringing them in proportion with your body.

During the breast reduction procedure, the surgeon removes fat, glandular tissue and excess skin. The size of the areolas may also be reduced during surgery, depending on your cosmetic goals.

A brow lift, can give you a more youthful, refreshed look. The muscles and skin that cause troublesome wrinkles, creases or sagging are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyelids and minimize frown lines. While this facial rejuvenation procedure can be done alone, the surgeon often performs a brow lift in conjunction with other procedures, such as blepharoplasty and facelift.

Chin augmentation is the surgical placement of a chin implant to accentuate a chin that is less pronounced. It is placed to give a more balanced look to your face. The implant adds definition to the jaw and balances the appearance of the nose.

DERMAL FILLERS (Juvederm, Restylane, Voluma)

To regain a youthful or less tired look or to lend volume and to sculpt the lips, you may want to try one of the dermal fillers. The dermal fillers we use are temporary, yet long lasting, injectable gel implants. Aestique’s Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner are both extensively trained and experienced clinicians that perform these procedures.

As we age our skin loses elasticity and moisture. This normal aging process, plus environmental factors like sun exposure, cause different facial lines to form, including moderate to severe lines and folds. Some areas that may be treated with fillers are: parentheses near the mouth, vertical lip lines, lip corner lines and marionette lines.

Blepharoplasty is a procedure that removes fat and excess skin from the eye area. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper eyelids and bags below your eyes that can make you appear older and more tired than you actually feel. Droopy eyelids may even interfere with your vision.

Facelift surgery, also known as rhytidectomy, counters the effects of aging, gravity, stress, and sun exposure through surgical techniques that smooth facial creases, tighten sagging skin and remove underlying structures, while contouring excess fat. A facelift can help you look and feel better about yourself.

This is a revolutionary procedure of taking excess fat from unwanted areas of the body and transferring it to areas that are volume deficient such as the face, hands, breasts or buttocks. It is performed in an outpatient setting and can be performed under local, sedation or general anesthetic depending on the patient’s medical history and the volume of the transfer. The fat is first removed from the donor site, which also enhances the body’s contour. The fat is then processed to obtain the purest fat rich in growth factor stem cells. This processed fat is then injected with precision (in small quantities) to allow the fat to vascularize. The procedure can range from one to four hours depending on the area(s) to be treated.

During the male breast reduction procedure, the surgeon removes excess fat and/or glandular tissue from the chest. In some cases, excess skin is also removed. The result is a chest that is firmer, flatter and more masculine..

This FDA approved, non-surgical treatment contours and improves the appearance of submental (under the chin) fullness. With this procedure, we can eliminate that double chin with nothing more than a few injections at a fraction of the cost of its surgical counterpart. It works by injecting the fat underneath your chin. The active ingredient, deoxycholoric acid, is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella causes the destruction of those fat cells. Those cells can no longer store or accumulate fat – they are permanently removed.

Lesion removal is a procedure in which an abnormal growth or skin tag is removed. Lesions may include warts, moles, lipomas and/or cancerous growths. They may be observed in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and locations. They can also vary from being flat to being raised from the skin. What people don’t realize is that lesion removal, most often times, is covered by your insurance, even when performed under the expertise of a plastic surgeon.

Many of today’s moms don’t feel like they have to sacrifice the way they look just because they have had children. “Mommy makeover” is an individualized surgical plan geared to the goals of women who have had children and want to rejuvenate their bodies. Childbirth can take a toll on the physique. Most women become frustrated when dieting and exercise do not fully restore the body to their pre-mommy shape. Women who are serious about finding a solution turn to the ultimate fix, a mommy makeover. A woman’s self-esteem and self-image are often tied to her appearance, making sagging breasts, deflated breasts, excess fat and/or excess stomach skin a serious problem.

Popular Mommy Makeovers Include:

  • Tummy tuck and breast augmentation
  • Tummy tuck and breast lift
  • Liposuction and breast augmentation
  • Liposuction and breast lift

This procedure is done when the ears protrude more than normal. Otoplasty sets the ears back to a more inconspicuous position. It can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear.

Our nose is the most prominent feature on our face. Any perceived imbalance can impact our overall facial appearance. Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, can have remarkable results, even if the patient only wants minor modifications; the newly shaped nose can enhance a person’s facial contours. Rhinoplasty is an individualized surgery that can reduce or change the size or shape of the tip or bridge of the nose, or just change the angle between the upper lip and the nose. It may also be performed to correct defects caused by an injury and remedy breathing difficulties. This is common in both males and females.

Many people, when considering nasal surgery, dislike their profile (side) view. Rhinoplasty can make the relationship between the nose and upper lip more proportionate and aesthetically pleasing. What many people do not realize is that the chin also plays a large role. Often times, the doctor will suggest a chin augmentation in conjunction with rhinoplasty surgery to achieve optimum results.
